Mavis Thomson, although born in Omagh, Co Tyrone, has made Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh her home for the past 60 years.

She is one of the most inventive of N Irish artists of her generation. She was driven to make sculptural works from found objects, allowing drfitwood and sea-battered flotsam and jetsam to suggest vital components of a final artwork from the late 1990s onwards.

In this compendium of twenty-one artworks, Mavis has gone a step further, in writing an accompanying poem for each artwork bringing the viewer to a fourth dimension.

Dr Denise Ferran has compiled this book of twenty-one artworks, poems and an assessment of her published works.
