Guided Cave Tour
Visitors on the Owenbrean River Walking Cave Tour can experience a fascinating natural underworld of rivers, waterfalls, winding passages and lofty chambers while stunningly beautiful cave formations glisten all around. Tour groups depart the visitor centre throughout the day, in the care of one of our enthusiastic and interesting tour guides. The tour consists of a 1.5km walk through the show cave. There are a few sets of steps within the show cave system and 154 steps to exit the cave. Your tour guide will pause along the way to give a fun, interesting and educational commentary suitable for all age groups to engage with and enjoy.
Guided Outdoor Walk
Unlocking the Hidden Worlds of Cladagh Glen is a guided walk where you can undertake a journey of discovery learning the secrets hidden deep within this stunning landscape draping over the Marble Arch Caves. Guided Walks depart from the visitor centre to venture through a Nature Reserve with steep sided gorge, underlying cave systems, cascading waterfalls, turbulent river and ancient woodland which have been carved and shaped over thousands of years.
Family Explorer Activity
Eco-Adventure Activity, this outdoor activity provides a careful balance of structured activities alongside time and space for your own exploration as a family within the grounds of the Cladagh Glen. Your young explorers will have an opportunity with our activity instructors to undertake a mini-beast hunt and at the Animal Hide and Seek Tent discover and learn about all the animals that call this woodland their home.
Why am I required to arrive 30 minutes prior to my tour/experience start time?
Customers are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to their tour/experience start time to allow adequate time for customers to register their arrival at reception and use toilet facilities etc. Guided Tours/Walks etc must start on time as we can not have a tour run late as other participants have other bookings or plans. Bookings will not be refunded if customers arrive late.
No, you are required to book onto a cave tour and experience the show cave with a tour guide.
Due to COVID-19 Social Distancing Guidance we are not permitted to run the short ten minute boat trip in the cave presently.
The all guided tour lasts 60 minutes however in the event of heavy or persistent rain it may be reduced.
There is a certain level of fitness required to undertake a tour as there are a number of steps within the cave system and approximately 154 continuous steps to exit.
When making a booking you are required to confirm that you and members of your party are in good health. Please note health issues such as cardiac, respiratory or epilepsy could be exacerbated by the cave environment.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you and members of your party with a medical condition bring appropriate medication with you for your visit.
Normal clothing is adequate for the cave tour with an additional fleece or coat. Appropriate sturdy footwear with good grip and ankle support should be worn.

No, unfortunately the cave is not wheelchair accessible.
Pushchairs are not permitted. You can use a front baby carrier and back carrier (as long as the childs head is lower than the adults).
Only guide and service dogs are permitted on a cave tour and inside the Marble Arch Caves Visitor Centre.
The majority of the show cave is through large chambers and passages with plenty of room to move. The only areas of the cave tour which may pose a concern to some people is the subterranean boat trip and moses walk. Both sections require you to lower your head for a short duration.

It is essential that you book in advance through our online booking system. Due to COVID-19 all visits are required to be booked online an can be booked up to midnight the day before your planned visit.

No, neither are permitted in the cave due to conservation and health and safety reasons or onto a guided walk as it interferes with the activity.
Presently we prefer for visitors to use our contactless till points for payments. Payment is taken by debit and credit card (with the exception of American Express).
